We're #CelebratingSocialCare this April!

This month we're joining Skills for Care in #CelebratingSocialCare. Find out more about why and how we're getting involved.

People who work in health and social care are highly-skilled, passionate and hard-working, and it's important that we all take time to recognise the work that people who work in health and social care do and the impact this has in supporting people who draw on care to live their lives how they choose.

That's why at First City we're joining in on #CelebratingSocialCare this month!

At First City we have a highly skilled team of people including Care Workers, Coordinators, Trainers, Support Planners, HR & Recruitment, Accounts, Brokerage and our Leadership Team. Together we provide support to our local communities in and around Swindon and on the Isle of Wight. In Swindon our customers include all ages from children and young people to the elderly, in a variety of settings.

We are passionate about supporting our customers to live a fulfilling life! Supporting and encouraging independence where possible, we enjoy working with our customers, their families and other healthcare professionals to tailor each support plan to each individual's requirements. Looking to the future we are interested in learning about and embracing future technological developments which may aid improved future services, and in turn improve a person's quality of life.

In April, we're #CelebratingSocialCare by continuing to share stories from our staff about their care journey, celebrating our outstanding internal training, and by shouting about development or our colleagues and how incredible each and every member of our team is.

Be sure to keep an eye on our social pages to see all the amazing work our colleagues do. In the near future we plan to introduce more about First City, what we do and go behind the scenes to explore what our different departments do!

We also want to share some of the great work and recent achievements of our team.

Last month alone, 6 of our colleagues successfully completed their care certificate, and we expect more to follow this month!

Our recent inductions have been bursting at the seams with enthusiasm as we welcome new colleagues onboard to start their rewarding career in care!

Some of our office colleagues have recently raised £690 for Cancer Research UK as they skipped their way through February, before completing 10,000 steps a day in March.

We really do mean it when we say our colleagues are fantastic! and we can't say thank you enough to each and every member of staff, for the incredible work they do - 7 days a week, 365 days of the year!
