You may think it obvious, the role of someone working within the HR and Recruitment Team, but as we explore this role in detail you may find there's more behind the scenes than first thought.
A HR and Recruitment Colleague advertises our vacancies across the First City Group, ensuring adverts are relevant, up to date and engagingin order to attract the best candidates to apply. Some advertising is online based, while others are in person events. Our HR and Recruitment Team not only attend local job fairs to talk to people about the various opportunities within the healthcare sector, but also visit schools and colleges to inspire the workforce of the future. With an aging population, it is vital that we share how much job satisfaction there is in a healthcare career; there will always be a need for care and support workers.
Our HR and Recruitment Team screen and interview colleagues, then process references and arrange initial training for those who have been successful. This involves effective communication with internal colleagues to ensure the staffing needs of the organisation are being met, candidates are screened to the most appropriate department and training courses are being utilised effectively. The team work closely with new recruits to guide them through the recruitment process, welcome them into First City, introduce them to the team they will work within and provide their name badga and uniform.
As we have discussed in previous blog posts, at First City compliance is key! HR and Recruitment hold the responsibility of ensuring all personnel files are in line with CQC requirements and that of the local council. It is imperative for HR and Recruitment colleagues to ensure all employees recruited are DBS checked and this is then renewed throughout employment, in line with First City policy.
First City have TUPED colleagues from other companies, when this has occurred HR and Recruitment colleagues support management to welcome these new members of staff to First City, audit files and make necessary changes (for example, requesting additional references) and processing new DBSs to bring them in line with our compliance.
It takes a reliable individual to work within the HR and Recruitment role; someone who is kind, carin, compassionate, honest and truly wants to make a difference to the lives of others by seeking like-minded individuals to welcome to First City. The moment someone who has been recruited passes their probation period, reiterates the career satisfaction from this role, as they know that by recruiting that individual, they have helped make a difference to so many people.
Without HR and Recruitment there would be no employees to fulfil the various roles across the organisaiton, and therefor there would be no care and support delivered!
It's clear to see that they definitely contribute to every hour of care First City provide, stay tuned for our next post, exploring what our Brokerage team contrinutes...
