During the month of July we have been looking at the theme of Dementia
Our notice boards around the office shared dementia facts and information about the different types of dementia for colleagues to explore as they visited.
We have shared a very useful service 'The Dementia Safeguarding Wristbands' and how this can be applied for, alongisde information about The Herbert Protocol which enables planning ahead for vulnerable individuals who may get lost or go missing while out on a walk and how everyone can become a Dementia Friend.
Over recent months our training team have released new courses which specialise in Dementia. Specific Dementia workshops have been held regularly throughout August for colleagues to attend. During these workshops we have been fortunate to share a video of our customer and their loved one talking about their journey 'living with Dementia'. These sessions have been so valuable to all who have attended and we have received some fantastic feedback from colleagues.
Discussions have been held during all meetings, both on a 1 to 1 basis and within groups, while our socials have been sharing information relating to Dementia, including showcasing some of the different types of dementia people in the public eye have been diagnosed with.
Our Swindon colleagues enjoyed getting our aprons ready for our First City Bake Off to raise money for The Alzheimer's Society and a local charity The Olive Tree Cafe. Thank you to everyone who bought in delicious goodies and shared a donation!
